Alaskan Leader Urges Voters to Begin a Journey of Change for a New Strong Alaska

Lupe Marroquin announces candidacy for State House on 6/1/2010.
Promising to be a consensus builder who puts the people's interests first, Lupe Marroquin today announced as a Democratic candidate for the State House.

A 34-year resident of Alaska, Lupe Marroquin said "I filed for State House because I believe new leadership is needed for the families in my district. My top priorities are the issues that matter most to the residents of the district: a strong economy with a responsible budget and safe communities for families and their children. I will take these concerns directly to Juneau."
As an active community leader, Marroquin has worked tirelessly across party lines to build consensus and facilitate compromise on important community issues. “Based on my experience, I know I can bring people together and put political differences aside to manage responsibly, do what’s best for the people in our district and have a positive impact in our community.” Marroquin said.

Lupe Marroquin has decades of experience in both state and municipal government, including as a budget analyst and managing elections for the Municipality of Anchorage and in her service with two state agencies, Health and Social Services and Transportation and Public Facilities.

Devoted to the future of Alaska, Lupe Marroquin is focusing her energy on listening to the residents of House District and translating their concerns directly into action in the Alaska State Legislature.  "I have the energy and expertise for greater public service, it's the right time to begin this journey." says Marroquin.
